Dorian and Babette Bowen of local Cardiff business Project One Wales have been nominated as a finalist in the KBB (Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom) Project category of this year’s SBID International Design Awards.
Project One Wales are up against some of the best intentional designers from across the Globe as the only Welsh finalists. There are 15 categories in total. KBB being a main category of design excellence that will be “rigorously measured”.
The Awards will be judged by international industry leaders; among them is Ben McOwen Wilson, Director of YouTube EMEA; Kevin Mau, Senior Creative Director at The Boeing Company; Christopher Jenner, Creative Director of Eurostar, David Lewis, Managing Director of Sunseeker London and Jane Preston, Facilities Manager UK, Real Estate & Workplace Services, Google.
Dorian Bowen, Director of Project One, says: “We have been very lucky over the years to be nominated for so many great awards and accolades. However, this award ceremony is not only prestigious but is aspirational globally within the design world. Both myself and Babette really hope Wales will get behind us and vote for Project One Wales and the Chepstow bathroom.”
There were no Welsh finalists last year or winners and this year Project One Wales are the only Welsh finalists for the International Design Awards for 2014. So this is a real achievement and something that the dynamic duo Dorian and Babette really want to showcase.
The awards serve to recognise, reward and celebrate design excellence across a broad range of categories. Winning a SBID International Design Award is a high achievement as they are voted for exclusively by leading industry experts both for technical content and aesthetic creativity using two tiers of judging processes.
The public voting will close at 5.30 pm GMT on Friday 5 September and the winners will be announced at the SBID International Design Awards Ceremony, held at The Dorchester hotel in London on Friday 14 November 2014.
