Swansea City first-team coach James Beattie is asking young people in South Wales to volunteer with small groups of friends to raise awareness of issues affecting disabled people.
Leonard Cheshire Disability needs 50 volunteers to launch their Action For Disability campaign across the region.
The former England striker is asking young people aged 14-25 to register via the charity’s website to declare their interest.
James Beattie said: “I support the charity because they support thousands of people with physical and learning disabilities to fulfil their potential and live the lives they choose.
“Volunteering is a hugely rewarding and fulfilling thing to do. You directly improve the lives and opportunities of others living in your community.
“We need 50 volunteers to campaign alongside disabled people to bring about changes for the better, and to challenge ignorance and unfairness in society.
“Your time is the most important investment you can give someone. If you can spare just a little of yours to change someone’s life, that would be greatly appreciated.”

The Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) and Wales-wide youth volunteering organisation GwirVol are supporting the initiative.
