Your chance to make a world of difference to vulnerable children in IAAF World Half Marathon
Action for Children is looking for runners to join its IAAF World Half Marathon team ahead of the prestigious event taking place in Cardiff on March 26th.
The event is the perfect opportunity for runners of all ages and abilities to run in the footsteps of champions, as this mass participation event is being run simultaneously to the elite race, for the first time ever in the UK.
Action for Children fundraiser Sam Coles, said: “The flat, fast and iconic Cardiff course will pass many of the city’s historical buildings, the bay area and vibrant city centre, giving you a fantastic view and showcasing Cardiff in all its glory as you run, jog or walk the route. This a great opportunity to take part in a world renowned race alongside the likes of Mo Farah and by choosing to run and fundraise for Action for Children, you will help us to change the lives of vulnerable and neglected children, young people and their families across Wales.”
All Action for Children runners will receive a support package including:
- Fundraising pack to help you raise sponsorship
- Action for Children running vest (minimum £75 sponsorship)
- Fundraising support from your local fundraising team
We suggest a £100 sponsorship target for this event but you can set your own, based on how much you think you can raise and we’ll support you in reaching your fundraising target.

Sam added: “With a limited capacity of only 25,000 spaces up for grabs in the mass race, demand is high for the chance to run a world-class championship course alongside world class runners so act fast! “
