Golfers set to swing to success for Cancer Research Wales

26/05/2016

As Cancer Research Wales celebrates its 50th anniversary, an annual golfing event held by leading energy consultant amber energy is set to take place in aid of the charity.

Now in its fourth consecutive year, the Charity Cup is held at the Celtic Manor and successfully raises funds and awareness for Cancer Research Wales. Over the last four years, amber energy has raised more than £10,000 for the cause.

The Charity Cup will take place on July 22 and will provide golfers with a full day of challenges, including a round on the Montgomerie Course and Crazy Golf.

With a day of trials ahead of them, attendees will be prepared for the day by a masterclass with Jim Howard. Following the activities of the day, the Charity Cup will include an evening drinks reception and a luxury three course meal.

Nick Proctor, managing director, said:

“Giving back is something that is felt through every step of the amber energy journey. As well as preparing for the Charity Cup, we’re getting ready to launch Energy Relief, an energy saving initiative which also provides essential relief to charities and community projects.”

In a conscious effort to include non-golfers in the festivities, the firm is also offering alternative experiences at the Celtic Manor.

Charli James, marketing manager, said: “As well as team tickets, we are also offering spa days for those who want to get involved but aren’t so keen on swinging a club. Dinner tickets are also available on our website, as well as individual tickets. We’ve had an incredible response so far.”
