On Sunday 20 May 2018, Cardiff & Vale Health Charity and Light Up Events will hold the first ever ‘Bed Push Challenge’ at Cardiff Bay Barrage to celebrate the National Health Service (NHS) at 70.
To mark this milestone, there will be an NHS at 70 5k and 10k run around Cardiff Bay and fun team challenge Bed Push across Cardiff Bay Barrage.
The 5k and 10k event will give a unique opportunity to be part of a one-off celebration, set in the heart of Cardiff’s historic Bay, on a course that is a flat, fast, friendly and suitable for all ages and abilities. The route takes in Cardiff Bay’s most iconic landmarks, starting and finishing in Roald Dahl Plass and passing the Wales Millennium Centre, Mermaid Quay, the Pierhead Building, Senedd, Porth Teigr and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
This event is the perfect challenge for elite and club athletes as well as those looking to keep fit, raise money for Cardiff & Vale Health Charity or take on their first 5 or 10K!
For those looking for a fun way to join the celebration of the NHS at 70, the team bed push across Cardiff Bay Barrage is an ideal way for friends, colleagues and family members to compete against each other and “push” themselves to their limits. There will be prizes for the fastest team, the team that has raised the most sponsorship and the best-decorated bed! There are only 10 beds available and spaces are going fast, so register your team now by emailing [email protected]
Taking part and fundraising for the Cardiff & Vale Health Charity NHS at 70 event gives a perfect opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of NHS staff and for entrants to give something back for the excellent care and treatment patients receive every day.
As part of the 10k race entry fee, participants will receive an event t-shirt and medal when they cross the line.
