A South Wales charity which offers care and support to children with cancer has benefitted from a donation from a local housebuilder.
Kids Cancer Charity, which is based in Swansea and has a fundraising office in Cardiff, received a cheque of £550 from Bellway Wales, which is building new homes at St Lythans Park, in Culverhouse Cross.
The money donated will go towards sending a child and their family to one of the charity’s four holiday homes located on the Welsh coast. These breaks give families a chance to get away from the pressures of hospital and treatment.
Rosemarie Davies, appeals officer at Kids Cancer Charity, said: “Our charity runs solely on donations, so we are extremely grateful to receive this support from Bellway.
“A donation of £550 will give a family the chance to have a short break away in one of our holiday homes and ensures they get to spend some quality time together.
“When a child is diagnosed with cancer it affects the whole family, but with kind gestures such as this one, we are able to offer support and care to help them through a difficult time.”

Kids Cancer Charity, which has been running since 1989, is currently helping more than 1,900 children and families through counselling, therapy, family support and short breaks.
