Inspired 2019 is a two day Charity Event coming to Abergavenny Castle on the 3rd and 4th August 2019 to raise funds for Breast Cancer Haven (Hereford); Cancer Research UK and the Critical Care Unit of Nevill Hall Hospital.
The outdoor concert is being organised by local resident Erica Hawke who explained “Due to a Breast Cancer scare last year, I wanted to do an event to give something back; I have chosen to try and raise some money for Breast Cancer Haven. This charity specifically appealed to me as it gives support to women and their families affected by a Breast Cancer diagnosis. When I was 19 years old, sadly my father, Michael passed away from cancer, this was over 20 years ago and at that time there was no support for us as a family available. Breast Cancer Haven provides that support today for anyone affected by Breast Cancer; such support would have been so beneficial to my family and myself all those years ago!
I also want to split the money raised with the Critical Care Unit at Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny, whom two years ago saved my husband’s life following a sudden illness, their care, professionalism and efforts kept our family together. I also wish to make a donation to Cancer Research UK due to the fact that my husband has unfortunately been diagnosed with Leukemia. My husband is moving forward positively but I am fortunate that he has been in the music / outdoor event world for 30 years working with some of the world’s biggest artists, so he will have no choice but to help me with this event J.”
