The Pen & Paper…Cardiff’s essential ‘non-essential’ art and stationery shop!
During these challenging times, we’ve all suffered, personally and professionally. As a local independent business in the heart of Cardiff, we’ve re-opened but have never seen our capital City so quiet. Whilst things have ‘picked-up’, they aren’t what they used to be and these are uncertain times.
For over 20 years, as one of Cardiff’s leading art and stationary stores, The Pen & Paper has thrived. However recently, with a global pandemic sweeping across the world, shopping ‘non-essentially’ (not that an artist would agree!) is no longer a priority.
The future is looking brighter and the hustle and bustle we all took for granted, is slowly but surely returning but there is still an element of uncertainty for us all but we know and understand that it’s frightening.
It’s now, more than ever that The Pen & Paper needs your support. If you’re visiting our art shop in person, we’ve ensured that every safety measure possible has been put in place, from distance markers to hand sanitizer, mask covered staff and till barriers. We know we’re not the only ones who’ve seen a decline in visitors; restaurants and public houses have certainly been hit hard too. But with community camaraderie being the driving force, The ‘Help Out To Eat Out’ scheme has really driven people to support their local foodie outlets, which has been truly wonderful to see in the Centre of Cardiff.
Whilst we are classed as a ‘non-essential’ shop to the UK government, to every budding artist, professional artist and lover of writing instruments of all prices, we’re very much essential.
