A teenager from Lambert, Stirlingshire, is urging people to get in the team spirit by taking on Make Today Count, Muscular Dystrophy UK’s sky diving challenge. Three Cardiff based community groups are amongst those celebrating this week after local supporters helped them secure a share of the £82,000 of funding from Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Giving Scheme. The winners were announced this week, showcasing the voluntary groups across the country that Skipton Building Society will support via Grassroots Giving 2015. More support for people living with dementia is being provided through a partnership between Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Alzheimer’s Society. Three new Primary Care Dementia Liaison Workers will come in to post later this month and will work alongside the specialist Memory Team based in University Hospital Llandough, Vale of Glamorgan and with primary care staff to provide support to people with dementia after their diagnosis and to their carers.
