A £6,000 micro loan from the Development Bank of Wales has supported the launch of vegan-friendly candle-maker and retailer Boho Flame Candles Co.   The Blackwood-based start-up uses soy wax and hand-pours small batches of their artisanal candles. Hospital Director, Fiona Conway, and Andrew Bennett, Kitchen Porter, alongside the food donations ready to be delivered to Cardiff Foodbank   Spire Cardiff Hospital has donated food worth over £778 to Cardiff foodbank, to help those most in need for 2021 Colleagues at the hospital, which has been helping the NHS in tackling the pandemic, raised £528.70.   A care home in Cardiff has become the latest to have its residents receive the Covid-19 vaccine   Residents and staff from Tŷ Llandaff, an ‘all-inclusive’, residential, nursing, palliative and respite care home in Conway Road, Pontcanna, had the Oxford/AstraZeneca jab which was the second vaccine in the UK to be approved against coronavirus on December 30 last year.   NHS staff visited the home in January to administer the inoculations with each one taking a few minutes.  …

The Welsh flag was seen projected onto a remote Hungarian castle for St David’s Day, as locals celebrated their growing friendship with Wales. Today, ten pieces of Cardiff-inspired art have been unveiled by FOR Cardiff Cardiff Castle in charcoal, a city centre map embroidered with Welsh wool, and portraits of some of the best-known characters in the city are just a few of the commissions being showcased in the all-day art exhibition.
