The British Red Cross and St John Ambulance Cymru are gearing up to support the coronavirus vaccination in a number of Welsh health boards. A joint initiative between Bouygues UK and Cardiff Blues Community Foundation to engage secondary school pupils in career discussions was launched recently at Pencoedtre High School in Barry. Deaf Cardiff resident Shannon Evans cycled 100 miles to raise funds for the National Deaf Children’s Society throughout October. Supported by her parents, Shannon achieved the distance by cycling around Rhondda Cynon Taff. Shannon had originally planning to take on the Cardiff Bay 10K run, with a fundraising target of £100-150, but the event was cancelled due to Covid-19.
