Edwards Coaches of Pontypridd, South Wales have been working with National Express over the past ten years and it’s partnership which continues to flourish into 2016. Currently operating over 36 vehicles from their headquarters, Edwards transport passengers with routes to London Victoria Coach station, Heathrow, Gatwick, Rochdale and Bradford, covering a colossal 11 million miles per year.
At the annual National Express Operator awards held in Coventry, Edwards Coaches won 4 awards on the night, including, ‘High Achiever Award’, ‘Gold Standard Operator’, ‘Engineering Gold Standard’ and ‘Winner, 21+ Vehicle Operator’. On a night where Edwards grabbed the headlines, Jason Edwards FCILT, Commercial Director said, “It’s such a great honour for Edwards Coaches to be recognised by National Express, our partnership continues to grow and develop and with these awards, it’s a testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our staff and National Express on improving passenger safety and comfort.”
The awards come at a time when Edwards Coaches are soon expecting the delivery of 13 brand new Volvo National Express Coaches. Each vehicle has the highest safety specifications of any on the road and are set to be a hit, with over half a million passengers that Edwards transports each year on behalf of National Express. An investment of £3.7 million in the latest vehicles sends a strong signal that business is booming within South Wales and is set to continue throughout 2016 and beyond.
Edwards Coaches have also recently extended their National Express partnership further by having a link placed on the National Express website, going through to Edwards European tours. It’s hoped that this will help to increase passenger numbers along the M4 corridor and into Kent, promoting the Edwards Coaches brand further than ever before.
