AVOID the hustle and bustle of the hectic high street shops by booking tickets for your family and friends at St David’s Hall this Christmas!

The big day may be fast approaching and the cold weather may be closing in, but you’ll always be afforded a warm welcome at the National Concert Hall of Wales. Don’t worry if you still haven’t made a start on your Christmas shopping as there’s plenty to put a smile on your loved ones’ faces come 25 December!

In 2016, we’ve got everything from cutting-edge comedy and amazing orchestras to cracking kids’ shows and household names throughout the music world.

For Dad, how about rock legend Paul Carrack, jazz star Gregory Porter or former Seahorses frontman Chris Helme? There’s also terrific tribute acts in the form of The Johnny Cash Roadshow, Navi (as ‘The King of Pop’ Michael Jackson), Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, The Elvis Years, A Night of ELO, The Orbison Story and Killer Queen. Plus, there’s a medley of hard-rocking riffs with the amps turned up to 11 in the Classic Rock Show Part 2!

Ed Byrne: Outside Looking In – Saturday 30 January, 8pm

But if comedy is more his thing we’ve got that covered too with Ed Byrne, Richard Herring, Craig Campbell and Kevin ‘Bloody’ Wilson guaranteed to have him roaring with laughter. We’ve also got Jimmy Carr on his 2017 ‘Greatest Hits’ tour – but don’t think that’s too far in the distant future as tickets are already selling fast!

Alexander Armstrong: A Year of Songs Live – Wednesday 27 January, 7.30pm

Mum will be delighted with a good seat for Pointless presenter Alexander Armstrong singing his favourite songs live onstage. Likewise, she’ll love A Night of Dirty Dancing, ex-Westlife singer Shane Filan and stunning saxophonist YolanDa Brown. Plus, for a healthy dose of nostalgia there’s Michael Bolton and Jason Donovan. Furthermore, there’s The Music of the Knights featuring the nation’s favourite TV personality Philip Schofield. And if she’s in the mood for some superb stand-up, there’s Julian Clary and Sarah Millican. Plus, the global phenomenon Riverdance is back with its 21st anniversary tour!

We’ve also got the perfect presents for Nan and Grandad too including The Grimethorpe Colliery Band, folk heroes Fairport Convention and fabulously funny shows such as Sandi Toksvig and The Return of The Grumpy Old Women. And if they want to experience the grandeur of a night at the opera, there’s no better way to do so than Puccini’s Tosca.
