Staff at recruitment firm, Hoop Recruitment in Cardiff are taking on various fundraising activities this year to help raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities UK which provides free accommodation for families with poorly children.
Their first activity was a tea party as part of the Charity’s “Let’s Get TEAgether” campaign which is encouraging individuals, communities and corporate groups to hold an afternoon tea or tea party to help raise awareness and funds. The campaign launched on 15 May which is also the date of International Day of Families, an important day for a Charity whose mission is to keep families close when they have a poorly child in hospital. The event was held at the Hoop Recruitment Office in the centre of Cardiff and clients, friends, family and colleagues were all invited to attend and enjoy.
There are Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK all situated in or near hospital grounds and enable seriously ill children to have their families close by when they are undergoing treatment and to maintain a degree of normal family life. The most recent facility, located at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, opened its doors to families in 2017 and since then has provided accommodation and support for nearly 1,800 families from South Wales and all around the UK.
Cerys Williams, office manager at Hoop Recruitment said “we are pleased to be supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities UK this year. It’s a Charity that the whole team are able to get behind and it was great to kick off our fundraising with such a delicious event! We’ve got lots of staff who love baking cakes so this was a great idea for a fundraiser”
