LOVE IS IN THE AIR AS THE SCIENCE DISCOVERY CENTRE WELCOMES ANYONE OVER THE AGE OF 18 TO JOIN THEM FOR AFTER HOURS: LOVE ON THE BRAIN
If you’re looking for somewhere different to pop the question around Valentine’s Day this month —especially given it’s a leap year — Cardiff’s iconic Science Discovery Centre may well be just what you’re looking for: and as the venue now hosts weddings too, it could be the perfect match for any science-loving couple, from offering the ring to tying the knot.
As part of the After Hours series of evening events exclusively for adults, Love on the Brain will be taking a quirky look at the science of love and attraction. Supported by Admiral, the night will give guests the opportunity to enjoy all of their favourite Techniquest exhibits without a child in sight.

It’s always great to see people who enjoyed visiting Techniquest as children, revelling in the nostalgia of returning with friends: discovering old favourites alongside newer exhibits they’ve not seen before. And this month, the timing is pretty perfect if anyone is looking for an alternative date night!”
After Hours: Love on the Brain includes a talk in the Science Theatre with Bob Snowden from Cardiff University, on the theme of Sexual Attraction, which can be accessed on the night on a first come, first served basis. Spaces in the Planetarium for Star Tours are already fully booked, but there are still tickets available for the main exhibition floor with over 100 hands-on exhibits to try out. A food station and cash bar will be on hand too, along with special guests including Chance & Counters, the Technicolour Choir and SparkLab Cymru.
Doors open at 7pm on Thursday 15 February and tickets can be booked in advance at techniquest.org for £15 each, which includes a welcome drink on arrival.
