Wales, 7th March 2017: Wales is to have some of the most advanced cancer treatments in the UK when The Rutherford Cancer Centre South Wales opens its doors, Mike Moran, chief executive officer of Proton Partners International, told BioWales today.   Proton Partners International Ltd, the company building a series of oncology centres known as The Rutherford Cancer Centres, will complete the building of its first centre within weeks. Grateful Mari Butt took on the world’s biggest obstacle course to ‘give something back’ to the charity which has helped her daughter survive Leukaemia. Her brave daughter Annie, was diagnosed with potentially-deadly Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia when she was aged just THREE, in July 2014. Now, still only five, she is nearing the end of an intensive two-year treatment programme which includes daily chemotherapy sessions, weekly blood tests and monthly consultant appointments, due to finish in October this year.
