We took our children to see The Cat In The Hat based on the much loved book by Dr Seuss at The New Theatre, Cardiff. The age guidance is 3+ so our children aged 5 and 7 were suitably aged. Two children are fed up on a rainy day, having nothing to do whilst Mum is out, but this doesn’t last for long because a Cat in a Hat suddenly turns up at their house. Their goldfish starts to talk…

I took the family to see Cinderella last year and as the cast was virtually the same this year, I couldn’t wait to return to the New Theatre.    The pantomime commenced with every Dad’s favourite Linda Lusardi appearing as Spirit of the Ring.  She looked ever so glamorous, I could do with a few tips to look that good.  Aladdin’s brother Wishee Washee, played by Andy Jones, was ever so funny, he’s perfect for pantomime.  My children were laughing…

  The Wizard of Oz is a family favourite of mine so it was inevitable that I would take my own children to see a live performance at The New Theatre. The show was directed by Orbit Theatre, Wales’ No 1 amateur company. Dorothy was played by Jodie Bird.  Jodi got to the semi finals in Britain’s got Talent last year.  She has the most beautiful voice and sounded very much like Judy Garland in both speaking and singing parts….
