Tears for Fears and Alison Moyet review

05/02/2019

WOW! The iconic TEARS FOR FEARS band rocked the Motorpoint arena in a sell-out gig! This is their first UK tour since 2005, so has had massive interest. They performed classic hits like ‘Shout’, ‘Mad world’ and opened with my favourite song ‘Every Body Wants To Rule The World’. The atmosphere was electric and even after more than 30 years since their first big hit they sounded incredible! Their first ever album ‘The Hurting’ reached number 1 in the UK album charts and had phenomenal success worldwide. It was awesome to see them back in Cardiff performing for their devoted Welsh fans. They said they were thrilled to be back in Cardiff and made reference to their home city of Bath, which is a short distance away. Their 2017 greatest hits album reached silver in the UK and made the top 20 in the official UK albums’ chart. When the band sang their first ever UK hit record ‘Mad World’ the arena was singing along in harmony and seemed to have a real connection with the song; it was a magical moment. They have sold over 30 million albums world-wide and are truly one of the most influential bands to come out of the UK. Catch them on their UK and international tour now!!

They were supported by the sensational Alison Moyet who is an incredible supporting artist to have. She went from being a member of the 1980s electro-pop band Yazoo to an incredible solo artist. Alison performed solo hits like ‘Love Resurrection’ and ‘All Cried Out’ from her first number 1 solo album ‘Alf’. She also sang ‘Only You’ and ‘Don’t Go’ from her stint in Yazoo. Her voice is outstanding and her stage presence really overwhelming. The audience sang along and were in complete awe of her! I was really blown away. Having sold a certified 23 million albums in the UK alone, 2 of her albums reaching number 1, she was a more than plausible choice to support ‘Tears For Fears’. Alison Moyet will continue to support them on this UK tour, so get your tickets now! You won’t be disappointed.
