Charities and good causes across Wales are being encouraged to apply for a funding boost via grants provided by Postcode Community Trust.
The trust is now accepting applications to support local causes in their activities with funding. Organisations can apply for a grant of up to £20,000 for activities from the trust which is funded by the players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
Since the beginning of the year, the trust has given grants to 36 organisations in Wales, with almost £500,000 in funding provided.
Applications are being actively encouraged from a range of charities and good causes, with funding available for one-off projects as well as ongoing activities and core funding.
One cause to receive funding from Postcode Community Trust last year was Neuro Therapy Centre which is based in Saltney. It received a grant of £14,117 which was used for a support programme for local people who live with long term neurological conditions.
Action for Elders was another organisation to receive funding from the trust last year with a £20,000 award. The grant was used for core funding for the organisation allowing it to continue with a wellbeing programme aimed at vulnerable older people.
Laura Chow, head of charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “In the last year, it has been clearer than ever before how important local good causes are for their communities. I’m thrilled that, through Postcode Community Trust, players of People’s Postcode Lottery are supporting grassroot organisations in Wales. I encourage any charities and local groups that are looking for funding to visit the trust’s website and fill out an application.”
This year, Postcode Community Trust will be holding funding rounds at the start of each month until October. To learn more, or to apply for funding, please visit https://www.postcodecommunitytrust.org.uk/
